​We are a part-time, family-cooperative preschool offering three
NAEYC & 5 STAR accredited classrooms for children ages 3-6. 

​Our 4-Day classroom is also licensed to serve as a unique kindergarten option.
​
​The Extended Day program allows children to continue their
​ exploration into the afternoon.​

We believe every child is eager and ready to learn at an individual level. Our Reggio Emilia inspired curriculum reflects that individuality, and offers many ways for children to challenge and extend themselves through a broad range of experiences.

​We do not differentiate between play and work. Play is a child’s work and every experience is an opportunity to learn. 

Tours

Tours take about 30-40 minutes and are generally scheduled at 8:45am or 3:30pm. Visitors will view classrooms and have a chance to ask questions. Families out of state may request a FaceTime or WhatsApp tour.  ​- View our virtual tour below-

​Open House is for families and community members who are curious about our school. Come visit our classrooms, talk to the teachers and meet some of our SHS families and children! 

National Association for the Education of Young Children

Saxon Hill School has been accredited by NAEYC since 1998. This continues to be a significant achievement as NAEYC is the most widely recognized professional organization in the nation. Every 5 years SHS undergoes a comprehensive process of internal self-study and external professional review to ensure that we meet the criteria for a High-Quality Early Childhood Program. 

STep Ahead Recognition System 

STARS is Vermont’s quality recognition system for childcare programs and preschools. The 1-5 rating system identifies programs that range from those in the early stages of self-assessment to those that display full implementation of early childhood best practices. We are proud to be a 5 STAR school and have been for many, many years. ​
